Father's Day Fun

Since it is father's day I just want to start this post by sharing a little bit about what kind of a father John is. When John and I first started dating I knew he would be a great dad, what I did not know was that he would exceed every single expectation that I could have ever had for him. He is the most hands on dad that I have EVER met, and the boys and I love him to pieces. He is the dad that rushes in when he gets home from work because he can't wait to play with his boys. He is the dad that can get his boys laughing like nobody else can. He is the dad that brings lysol wipes to costco to clean the carts because he does not want his boys to get sick. If one of the boys gets up in the night John gets him and rocks him back to sleep. If one of the boys fall over he rushes to get them and make sure that they are okay. He has their favorite commercials on the PVR and ready to go if the boys feel the need to dance. John could beat anybody that I know at changing a diaper, getting a baby in their carseat, making a batch of bottles, or taking out the garbage...this guy is as great as they come. I am SO unbelievably lucky to have John as my partner in life and the dad of my boys. Here are some pictures from our day!
The boys and I found an Oiler's chair for John that matches theirs...SO CUTE!!! We NEED to go camping...or at least sit around a fire! The boys playing in Grammy and Grandpa's yard
Our Father's day BBQ this year was a golf theme so we had a long drive contest...with a marshmallow! It was quite funny to watch and try!!!
Me enjoying the sun and the great company!
Matty and G-pa playing around
Grammy and Luc playing with the tree!
GG-ma and Luc playing in Aunty K's drink tub
It was pretty warm outside and the boys were pretty messy from their supper so we stripped them down and let them play in G-pa and G-mas pool! hahaha

Just like the alligator pool Nathan was more interested in getting in and out than he was in actually just being in the "pool"

Nathan not quite sure being naked in the grass is the best idea!

Here are the cupcakes that we made for dessert
(Amy they are from the cupcake book!!!)

3rd Annual Mothers Day Brunch

Today we went over to Aunty K's for the third annual mothers day brunch (last weekend didn't work for everyone so we switched it!).

Family Shot! I LOVE this one!
This was what was happening on the other side of the camera to get all of the boys to sit still for 2 seconds! Thanks to these three for making it possible to get a family picture!
It was so nice outside that we decided to go out and get a pool for the boys to splash around in. Here is daddy blowing it up!
And here are the boys playing with it...it was fun before it was even blown up! We did not end up getting to use the pool today but the forecast looks great so I am sure we will be out there soon!

HIGH CHAIRS!!!

John and I had discussed it and decided that we were going to try and get by without getting actual highchairs. We have the ones that clip on the counter and they work great for when I am working in the kitchen, but not so great for feeding the boys. We had been feeding them in their bumbos which was working pretty good but got to be kinda tough on the feeders (my) back!
So on Saturday we went to the mall with Grammy and got some highchairs...they are wonderful!
Here is Lucas loving his chairMatty in his

If I had been looking a little better the last couple of days I would have had John take a picture of me sitting in the lazyboy feeding them (instead of on the floor) and you could see how much Mommy enjoys the new chairs too!

Last night John and Uncle G went to play poker so Aunty K and Fella came over to help play with, feed and put the boys to bed. While we were bbqing Fella (Aunty K's Fella...not one of mine!) was outside jumping up on the window and the boys all thought that it was HILARIOUS! Kels and I went out and took turns entertaining the boys from outside...if one of the neighbors was watching they probably thought that we were hilarious too...that or maybe they just thought that we were crazy!
Aunty K and Fella...
The Happy Audience!
So just to follow up on the last post we are ALL BETTER NOW!!! After I wrote about Nate getting sick we knew we were in for a rough night...but we did not know quite how rough it was going to be! The two sick boys slept great but I got sick at about 1:30am and John shortly after. Thank goodness for our wonderful family and friends that helped us get through Friday...we could not have done it without you!

We did it!

So the boys and I made it through our first day without dad and without grammy...well half a day! At about 8:10 I looked over at the clock and thought that I would get out of bed so that I could have breakfast and a tea before the boys got up (usually around nine)...not today! Matthew got up at 8:15 but was in a great mood so all was good. About half an hour later Lucas got up, ate and was also in a good mood. The boys did some kicking, still no Nathan, they did some chair time, still no Nathan, they did some tummy time, still no Nathan. So at ten I decided that I would go and wake him up. He got up and was in a great mood...but apparently he decided that he did not need a nap...ALL DAY!!! He had some fussy moments but was quite happy for the most part. He slept in the car at about 6:30 for all of twenty minutes and that was it! Should a 4 month old baby not need a nap at some point during the day???
Anyways GG-ma and GG-pa came over at 11:00 (to help me get the boys down for their afternoon naps which they decided that they did not need) and then John got off super early today so he did some errands and then came home. It was busy enough that I did not get a single picture taken today until right before bed (no naps all day and Nathan is still smiling before bed!)
Here are our fellas in their "HENRY HOE PJS"!!!

we miss you Henry!
