Our Holidays?!?!?

On Thursday morning we woke the fellas up at 4:55am (after about an hour and a half of sleep for John and I) and were on the road by 5:00.  We were heading down to Whitefish with some wonderful friends of ours...we had been excited for weeks!
Here are the fellas ready to head out!

The drive had been going really well.  We decided to stop in Sparwood for a little bit of a run around and visit the biggest truck in the world!

The boys in one of the wheels.

Me and my 4 boys!

Running under the truck...I think they look super similar in this picture!

Running to hug Daddy

The Super cute Roys

We loaded the boys back up and drove the rest of the way.  They got a little fussy towards the end but we would consider it a good drive down.

That's when things turned right around...for the worse.  The boys were the fussiest they have EVER been, like seriously EVER...and all three of them.  We could not keep them happy no matter what we tried.  We went and got groceries...the boys fussed the ENTIRE time.  They did calm down for about ten minutes when we let them play in the front seat of the vehicle..but then turned the attitude up ten times when we put them back in their carseats.  When we got back to the campground we went to the petting zoo, which the boys LOVED, but when we put them back in the wagon to head back they FLIPPED, they were throwing absolute fits, and one of them even flipped himself out of the belt, and almost got right out of the wagon.  We tried to entertain the boys in the trailer, but we were unsuccessful.

It was now about 6:00 (about 4.5 hours after we had arrived) and we decided to load them up and head home.  It may sound like we gave up too soon, but we just didn't see this situation turning itself around.  We were beyond disappointed to not be able to spend our weekend with the Roys, but we knew this was what we had to do.

Good news - they gave us back all our money
Bad news -  The drive home was BRUTAL.  The boys barely slept, and it felt like even when they were asleep they were whining.  (and we in no way blame the boys for being fussy for the car ride home...if it were socially acceptable I am sure John and I would have been doing the same).
Good news - they let us bring our beer back over the border duty free even though we were not even in the states long enough to have a liquor exemption.
Bad news - the drive home was longer than expected due to construction (which as far as we could see was not even happening)
Good news - we got home at about 1:00, the boys fell fast asleep the second they were in their beds and didn't wake up until 10:00 am, then napped from 12:00-4:00, and still went to bed at 7:00 and fell asleep within minutes.  I pretty much slept the exact same times as they did :)

We know that we made the right choice in coming home but are missing our time with the Roys :(  The boys are just at a tough age right now.  The campground would be AWESOME for kids...just not for triplet toddlers!  I can see us going back when the boys are older.

Here is one last picture...this was Matty on part of the drive home, he wrapped himself right up in his blanket!

Take me out to the ball game...

Saturday was a fun filled day for the fab four and five alive! We started off our day with a tour of Seattle on one of the "Ducks". The tour was a ton of fun, music pumping, people dancing, and a very fun transition from land to water...that's right it drove right into the water and became a boat!
Here are all 9 of us packed into two seats! One of the cool things that we saw on the water part of the tour was the house that they used for Sleepless in Seattle!
The boat used for Pirates of the Caribbean!
Another neat thing that we saw was the buliding that they used for the outside shots of Grey's Anatomy. You have all heard of McDreamy and McSteamy...but have you heard of McScreamy??? Because we had three of them at one point of the trip!!!
Out on the Water
Captain Matthew
Captain Nathan
Captain Lucas (trying to read the manual so he can figure out how to drive the duck himself! hahaha)
After our duck ride was over we grabbed some lunch and had a picnic at the bottom of the space needle.
Here is Daddy and Matty
Daddy and Lucas
Daddy and Nathan (this is a great optical illusion because he was not actually 1/4 of the way up the space needle)
In Seattle 1% of bulding costs has to be spent on public art, such a fun idea because it is really fun to see all of the sculptures around the city. Here we are posed in one that is at the bottom of the space needleƩ
After Lunch at the space needle we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the Mariners game. Here are the two proud papas pushing the strollers to the game.
Mel, Adam and Johnny enjoying a ball park hotdog!
Me and my boys at the game
The Roths
Daddy holding two of his boys (and if you look close you can see the third in the front seat of the stroller behind the gate)
Here we all are at the game! We were one seat short of filling up our entire row!
Safeco field had an AWESOME play park for the kids. John and I found a spot in the back where we could feed the fellas!
One lap around safeco and Nathan was asleep, he slept in the stroller through all the cheers and boos!
Lucas and Matthew took 2 laps to fall asleep but then were out like rocks!

Bottom of the seventh and it is the first pitch that we actually get to watch!!! hahaha
The boys were awesome at the game. We ended up leaving during the bottom of the eighth...Mariners were down one nothing. As we were making our way out of the stadium we heard a GIGANTIC cheer and when we looked to see what happened they had just hit a GRAND SLAM!!!
Since it was our lsat night in the hotel I thought that I should take a picture of the boys in their pea pods. So here they are, the blanket was just over top to keep all the light off until we were ready to go to bed. (and John sleeps in a bed, he was just kissing Nathan goodnight)

We left Seattle Sunday morning and made it home by 10:30! We had an AWESOME time on the holiday but we are all happy to be home!

We Made it!!!

Today was another travel day. After a quick stop at McDs we departed Kelowna just beofre 8am. Here is John double fisting his breakfast (don't worry we are at a stop light). The kids were all WONDERFUL travellers. We had probably one minute of fussing the entire drive. While the boys were asleep we changed to a coldplay cd for a little bit and when they woke up they were not huge fans, we switched to GLEE and they instantly went quiet.
I took this picture while we were driving because John said that it looked like the twilight movies so we kept an eye out for vampires and warewolves...unfortunately we did not see any!
We made it all the way from Kelowna to Burlington without a single stop, like I mentioned earlier the boys were all total rockstars!!! We had lunch and then browsed the outlets, John found some deals!!! Here are the fellas (even though you can only see 2 they are all in fact in there!) while we were browsing the outlets.
Adam also found a good deal on some new sandals...here he is destroying his old ones...he was not a huge fan!!!
John and Adam took the boys back to the vehicles to load them up while Mel and I got a few more minutes of shopping...thanks boys!
With two successful travel days the adults needed to celebrate. And $13.99 for a 12 pack, who could resist!
Cheers!!!
We babyproofed the hotel room and played for a bit. It was weird because even though we were with the boys all day they were in their carseats, and when we got them out I just wanted to cuddle them all non-stop, I missed them a ton! After playing we took a "leisurely" walk to find a place to eat...this hill was MUCH steeper in person, I am sure we all may be a little stiff tomorrow!
The Roths headed to the park to play and John and the boys and I went to Red Robin!!!! Oh how we LOVE it there! We had the BEST service, and the BEST food that we have had in a long time! It was the first time we have ever ordered the boys their own meal! Macaroni and cheese :) Here are my 4 boys and I!
On our way home we had a Jamba Juice...pretty much the same as a booster juice, but Jamba Juice just sounds like so much more fun! And the name of our drink was the Strawberry surf rider, also fun!
When we got back to the hotel we fed the boys and put them into their pea pods. There was NO crying tonight, just giggling and babling until they fell asleep...I LOVE IT!!!
