Messy Little Men

Lately we have been trying to let the boys eat with their own cutlery lately...it is exhausting how messy it is!  And although they are getting way better at using their forks and spoons, this is the mess that was left behind the other night...

luckily we have our small brown dog to help us clean up!!!

Grubby Groceries!

I recently found out that the Sobey's has carts that can hold 4 kids!!!  I wish that all grocery stores had carts with this capability!  Anyways the boys and I needed a few things so we decided to go and try it out.  Our first stop was to grab some buns.  The lady behind the counter came out and asked if she could give the boys each a cookie, and who am I to say no to a cookie!  In this special cart two of the boys sit in a car that is attached to the front of the cart...so I can see the tops of their heads but not their faces. As we were making our way around the store people would look at the fellas and laugh, and say something like "oh my goodness are those triplets?"...but this is totally normal...it happens EVERWHERE we go!  When I got to the till I walked around the front of the cart and realized that people may have been laughing about a little more than the fact that there were three of them.  Nathan had cookie ALL over his face!!!  I did not have a camera with me (odd I know!) so I had to leave messy Nathan until we got home!  By the time we got home and I got the camera he had wiped quite a bit of the cookie off, but I think that you get the picture!!!

ewwww...VEGGIES!

So the boys have been eating their rice cereal for over a week now and doing a really good job...so we figured it was time to let them try a new food...CARROTTS! I gave them each a bit of the new orange stuff and they were repulsed...I tried a few more times but just got the same reaction. I prepared some squash this morning to freeze but did not have it all frozen yet, since it had a much smoother texture than the carrotts I thought I would give it a try...I did not think that it was possible but they hated this even more, the second it hit their tounge they would gag.
Here is Lucas's reaction...Nathan's...
and Matthew's
I was feeling a little bad that they hated it SO MUCH so I made a little rice cereal to help wash it down.

Lucas thinking that the rice cereal is MUCH better
Nathan Loving it!
Mr. Matthew happy as a clam!
We will persist with the new foods...I will keep you posted with how it goes!

Not quite wordless wednesday

So I always love that Wednesdays I can slack off and do a wordless post, so I took some pictures of the boys but then could not post them without some explanation so turns out that this Wednesday is NOT wordless!

This morning I picked up a new toy for the boys...this thing is wonderful!!! In the picture below it is in its table form, but the legs can also come off so that they can use it for tummy time! All 4 sides have things to do which makes it perfect for me and my fellas, one side for each of us!

It...
  • Makes 23 noises
  • has 18 moving parts
  • 12 different colours

What more could a baby want! (the boys are napping right now so I did in fact count all of those things out!)The boys are LOVING solid food!!! Here are some pictures from after their meal today...
Nathan a total mess but loving every second of it!Matthew also super messy...which is not too bad until he starts putting his hands in his mouth while I am trying to get a spoon in someone else`s mouth...thats when it gets really messy!!!Lucas pretty much clean as a whistle...when I put the spoon to his mouth he barely opens it and just slurps the food right off and into his mouth, leaving no trace of it on his face...I guess that he will be the clean freak like his dad!!!
And of course Bones cleaning out the bowls when we were done...she was messier than Lucas but cleaner than the other two!

Solid foods here we come!

So today we started the boys on some real food, yesterday when we were talking about it John's brother just laughed and said that if the boys eat anything like Johnny, then we are in BIG trouble hahaha!
mmmm...rice cereal! (this is a little sarcastic but I did taste it and compared to their formula this stuff is like candy!)The three fellas all lined up and ready to eat!

Lucas's first taste
not quite sure what he thinks about it!
Nathan not quite sure what to do with that stuff!
Lucas was an eating pro after a few bites!
Matthew a little slow at the start...
and then we could not get it in his mouth fast enough!
Matthew loving his snack!
Nathan swinging his arms wanting more!
Lucas trying to lick off his bib!
Matty trying to get the spoon to his mouth as quick as he could!
an action shot!
another one
Nathan ready for some more...I love this picture!
The boys all finished their entire tablespoon!!! I can not wait to feed them again tomorrow...there is no looking back now!
